The delegation of Happy Nordic Living Ltd, led by CEO Timo Mikkonen, together with the company’s Kyiv-based legal counsel Glenn Kolleeny, visited the City of Brovary in the Kyiv region and held an official meeting with Mayor Igor Sapozhko and his senior team.

Brovary is one of the key growth centres of the Kyiv metropolitan area, with a population of approximately 116,000 residents. The city has also received more than 20,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs), which highlights the urgent need for new housing, local jobs, and sustainable industrial investments.

The visit was part of Happy Nordic Living’s ongoing systematic assessment of municipalities in the Kyiv region. During this phase, the company is meeting with the leadership of 10–15 communities to:

  • understand local development priorities
  • evaluate land availability for industrial production and residential areas
  • assess infrastructure and energy capacity
  • analyse long-term partnership potential

Based on this process, 2–3 municipalities will be selected for advanced negotiations, after which the final pilot location for the first industrial investment and the Happy Nordic Living Village residential development will be chosen.

During the meeting, the City of Brovary presented concrete opportunities for:

  • a land plot for industrial timber element production
  • a land plot for a pilot residential development

The discussions were held in a very warm and constructive atmosphere. The city leadership demonstrated strong commitment to attracting industrial investment and creating new jobs, while improving housing conditions for both local residents and IDPs.

Happy Nordic Living’s model combines industrial production, energy-efficient housing, and local employment, forming a long-term partnership with municipalities and supporting Ukraine’s reconstruction at the community level.

The visit to Brovary confirmed the city’s strong development potential and its readiness to participate in an international investment-driven reconstruction project.
