Our majority owner, Nordevo Oy, has taken a significant step forward. Together with Sweden's Lindbäcks — one of Europe's leading industrial timber builders — Nordevo has founded Nordewood, a new Finnish residential developer set to become a frontrunner in Nordic timber construction. For us at Happy Nordic Living, this is welcome news: we share the same owner and the same Nordic values, and we see the deepening cooperation between these two builders as a strong signal for the future.

Nordewood brings together two complementary strengths. Lindbäcks has built with wood for more than a hundred years and across four generations, and its Piteå plant is one of the most modern modular factories in Europe. Nordevo, in turn, knows the Nordic construction value chain from start to finish and is already an established residential player in the Finnish market. Nordewood will operate across the whole of Finland and is already engaged in several projects.

The combination creates a rare capability: to deliver larger and more demanding timber-frame buildings faster, at higher quality, and more cost-effectively — from area development and design through to the finished home. As Nordevo's CEO Juuso Hietanen has noted, sustainable urban development calls for projects built responsibly for the future. For Lindbäcks, this is a long-term commitment and a natural step in extending Nordic timber construction beyond Sweden's borders, built on shared values of sustainability, responsible building, and innovation.

Why does this matter to us at HNL? Because we are part of the same Nordic family, and every step that strengthens Nordic timber-building capability strengthens the ground we stand on. As this cooperation grows, we are optimistic about the opportunities it may open for our own mission — bringing high-quality, quickly delivered, and genuinely human housing to where it is needed most, including the reconstruction of Ukraine. We are still early on that road, but the direction is clear.
